The Cleveland Society for Human Resource Management Foundation (CSHRMF) is pleased to announce a year-long partnership with Seeds of Literacy (Seeds), a local non-profit that provides personalized education that empowers adults to succeed in their communities.  This partnership is an excellent fit to the mission of CSHRMF because Human Resources is about creating an opportunity for growth and development for job seekers. CSHRMF will work to raise funds and awareness for Seeds through several charitable events over the next year, including a Silent Auction and a Charity Golf Outing.

Seeds offers GED preparation and basic education, completely free of charge, as well as one-to-one tutoring that provides personalized attention and support for maximized learning.   A unique curriculum is designed for each individual students and a flexible class schedule is available.  Seeds services are available to the community year round with open enrollment.

“We received excellent proposals from various non-profits and are thrilled to announce that Seeds of Literacy will be the recipient of the third round of funding from the Cleveland SHRM Foundation,” said Lauren Rudman, CSHRMF Chairperson and President.  “We are excited to partner with Seeds because they provide educational opportunities to the Cleveland community, which ultimately results in jobs and a greater economic footprint in our city.”

Over the past seven years, CSHRMF fundraising efforts have raised over $130,000 for area non-profits, including March of Dimes, Prayers from Maria, Hospice of the Western Reserve, Shoes and Clothes for Kids, The Gathering Place, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Association of Northeast Ohio and Towards Employment to name a few. CSHRMF events and efforts have been recognized and nominated for awards, such as CBC Magazine’s Connectors Choice Awards Best Corporate Golf Outing in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

“We are honored to be chosen as this year’s CSHRM Foundation partner charity,” said Bonnie Entler, Executive Director of Seeds of Literacy. “Our students will benefit from CSHRM’s expertise in terms of learning about the skills most desired by employers and help with resume writing and interviewing, and Seeds offers strong, impactful volunteer roles for CSHRM members. Through this partnership, we hope to meet more members of Cleveland’s corporate and workforce community, offer volunteer opportunities to more individuals, and cultivate new supporters to advance adult literacy levels in Northeast Ohio.”
