Giving Back: The Chapter Champion

The Chapter Champion Committee has volunteers from diverse organizations dedicated to delivering creative and interactive ways for CSHRM to give back to the community at large.  The committee focuses their attention on charitable organizations, and builds awareness for their causes with fun events throughout the calendar year. Our goal is to support our community through outreach and charitable efforts.

How Can I Help?

Getting involved is easy! By attending the Chapter Champion events including the Annual Silent Charity Auction and the Charity Golf Event, you will meet lots of people and volunteer your time for a good cause. You can also network with members of the represented charity organizations and learn ways to volunteer with them on your own! We need your help developing relationships in the community, connecting with area organizations for donations and coordinating and volunteering at events.

24th Annual Cleveland Triathlon

United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland (UCP) is proud to announce the return of Team UCP at the 24th Annual Cleveland Triathlon! For the third year in a row, Pacific Sports, LLC has named UCP the Official Charity of the race to be held on August 8, 2010 in Downtown Cleveland's North Coast Harbor.

Team UCP consists of client families, friends and members of the general community who join together to raise funds and awareness that directly impact over 1,200 residents of Northeast Ohio who receive assistance through Children's Services, Adult Vocational Services and Adult Residential Services. Volunteers are needed to direct racers throughout the race route, distribute water at one of the several fluid stations, assist with coordination and security in the transition area, or remove time chips from racers at the finish line.  Volunteers are also needed to participate in the full triathlon or to fill legs of the race for relays by swimming, biking and running (to register: click here). Pacific Sports, LLC is graciously giving $10 for every volunteer, $10 for every individual racer and $15 for every relay. Your support will make a huge impact!

CSHRM is partnering with UCP to assist in any way we can to support the Triathlon.  Please volunteer to help others who need our help.  When you call and volunteer, please tell them that you’re with CSHRM so we can keep in touch with you and thank you….even though your thanks will be the smiles on the faces of all of the adults and children who will benefit from this fundraising.

Together, we WILL empower children and adults with disabilities to advance their independence, productivity and inclusion in the community.
