Mentor Program

2019-2020 Mentoring Program

Please note: Deadline for submittal is September 1, 2019

Are you new to the HR profession, trying to navigate your way in the workplace and through company politics? Or, have you been working as an HR professional for many years and want to take your career to the next level? Having a mentor may be just what you need!

What is HR mentoring? It is the opportunity to guide and help professionally develop a mentee who is anxious and ambitious to enhance their HR career.

If you’ve been in HR for a few years and enjoy giving back to the HR community, why not mentor an entry-level HR person? Or, if you are a senior manager – you have great experience and a solid knowledge base - why not share some of your experiences with mid-level HR people trying to make that leap into senior management?

If you can relate to any of the above, consider participating in CSHRM’s Mentoring Program!

Benefits for Mentees & Mentors include:

Mentees:

·       Start to establish your professional network

·       Increase awareness of the issues HR professionals face

·       Gain professional support and encouragement from your mentor

·       Grow your confidence, competence, and professional identity to start your HR career

Mentors:

·       Develop and support someone new to the HR field

·       Meet new talent and share expertise

·       Enhance your own coaching, communication and leadership skills

·       Engage in a meaningful volunteer opportunity

This year we are also implementing a peer-peer mentoring program. This will be an opportunity to meet with an individual at the same career level and share ideas or discuss challenges.
